Startup Café by SUP46 is open for business
On Monday morning we were even more excited than we usually are about the start of a new week. After months of planning, building, tasting and preparing we finally got to open up the doors to Startup Café by SUP46. It turned out to be a great day and we want to thank everyone that has already visited and of course also for all the kind words we have received both in person and through other channels.
A special thanks to our very first guest barista Annie Lööf, who made coffees like a boss and also of course to AMF Fastigheter for all the support in making this café happen.
Last night we got the opportunity to talk more about the café during Sthlm Tech Meetup, where we also gave everyone present clip cards with a free coffee. Hope to see some of you lovely people in the café shortly!
More photos from the opening day can be found here. If you want to read more about the café or the possibilities to rent it for your event or gathering, this is where to go.
And last but not least, thanks for all the great suggestions on names for the Breakfast Package in the café! We received more than 60 awesome suggestions and in the end went for Break First, which was suggested by Jean-François Wipf on LinkedIn.
STHLM TECH PROTEST
Today we were part of the friendly demonstration STHLM TECH PROTEST by Sveriges Riksdag. As SUP46 is one of the initiators of the Swedish Startup Manifesto we felt it was appropriate to attend and show our support. It was a very civil demonstration with attendees from the tech and startup scene.
We all gathered around 10am with flowers and some signs, thanks to 500Startups. Trust the americans to do a demonstration the right way! We handed out the Manifesto, talked to the political representatives that showed up and of course national and international media. In the end there was almost as many reporters as there were protestors. You can read more about it in English on The Local.
Now we are off to Tokyo for the second edition of SLUSH Asia. The trip is a Nordic Showcase and we are traveling together with the rest of the #NordicMade initiative.
Only one week left until the opening of Startup Café by SUP46!
We are really excited about opening up our very own café. So excited that we are making an event out of the first day. Throughout the 16th of May we will offer a 50% discount on filter coffee so bring your friends along for a fika.
More information about the event and our very first guest barista – none other than Annie Lööf, Leader of the Center Party and Sweden’s former Minister of Enterprise – can be found in the Facebook event. While you are at it, sign up for Startup Grind with Annie the same evening, hosted at SUP46!
Going forward the café will be available for bookings in the evenings. If you are looking for a centrally located venue in an exciting environment to host a mingle or perhaps an after work, get in contact with our event manager Tatjana on email@example.com.
Our new home
As you might have read earlier on DI Digital and Breakit we have left our first venue and moved 18 doors north to end up on Regeringsgatan 65. One of the absolute best things about this move was to be able to use all of the experience we have gained during the past three years when designing our new venue.
We have set it up with focus on our and our members’ needs (which means quite a few changes for the better in comparison with the last venue) and are so happy about the result. Another thing that is truly great is the fact that we now have our whole community gathered on the same floor.
The open Hangout Space and Event Space has been closed up until this week, which means very few have seen anything of our new venue. So we thought we would give you a sneak peak of what it looks like up here, on the third floor of Europahuset.
We look forward to welcome you back to the new and improved SUP46 venue!
Hello and welcome to our first ever blog post!
SUP46 has been the hub and meeting place for the startup scene in Sweden for two and a half years now. Some of you might think that this blog post is a tad overdue for someone who is a rather strong voice for the startup people of Sweden – but we say better late than never.
Going forward you will be able to find everything from our thoughts on industry news and a deeper look into the SUP46 community, to guest posts and interviews with inspiring and interesting startup people. We also hope to give you a better picture of what goes on behind the scenes at SUP46. After all, the open meeting place is just one part of what we do whilst the exclusive member-based community, and helping our members grow, is where our focus truly lies.
The curator of this blog will be the same person who “is” SUP46 in all of our other digital channels, my name is Elin and I am in charge of PR & Communications at SUP46. If you want to share your own thoughts and insights in this channel or have something you would love to read about – don’t hesitate to get in contact on firstname.lastname@example.org.
We hope you are as excited as we are about this new blog of all things startup AND of course our brand new website – isn’t it pretty? It is built by Sandström / Zethelius.
